The new format moves LOOKS beyond supermarket beauty zones and into specialty retail as Tops targets younger and more premium beauty shoppers in Thailand.

Tops will open the first standalone LOOKS store on May 20 at Robinson Lifestyle Srisamarn, marking a strategic shift for the Central Retail-owned beauty and wellness brand. The retailer said the move forms part of a longer-term plan to expand LOOKS to 100 locations across all formats by 2028.

Dedicated Beauty Format

LOOKS has previously operated mainly as beauty zones inside Tops supermarkets. The standalone concept is designed to reposition the brand toward Thailand’s masstige and younger beauty segments, with more than 5,000 SKUs across skincare, makeup, and inner wellness. Around 15% of the assortment will be exclusive to LOOKS stores.

The store will also include a Solution Bar where beauty specialists provide consultations and product recommendations. Alongside the new format, the brand continues to operate through 105 LOOKS zones inside Tops stores and 17 Tops Daily branches nationwide.

Thailand Beauty Ambitions

For Dewsia readers, the significance is format evolution. Tops is no longer treating beauty as only an in-supermarket category but as a specialty retail growth channel with room for deeper assortment, exclusives, and advisory selling in Thailand.

I'm a journalist and editor with a background in trade publishing. I started Dewsia because the Asian beauty market - and Vietnamese skincare in particular - had no dedicated English-language editorial coverage. Not blogs, not influencer content: reporting. Brand histories, market data, regulatory shifts, and ingredient sourcing. Dewsia covers the full scope - news and analysis across Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese beauty - with a focus on the markets and brands that Western media overlooks.
